Dallin's ball team

Dallin is white #44
Dallin has been playing basketball this year with some of his very best friends from school. He LOVES being with his friends. He LOVES his new basketball shoes, and he LOVES making baskets! :) He had a few really good steals this year. A few great rebounds and a couple good baskets. It has been fun to watch him learn to be a little bit more aggressive. I have taken him to the church day after day after school to practice shooting and to play a little one-on-one with his mommy! Love it! I will miss that part of basketball more than anything else. It isn't going to be long before his mom isn't going to be able to beat him anymore. :) Love you buddy!

I've Learned.....

That TENTS are a vital part of children and childhood. So, this is what my living room/dining room looked like for 3 days this week. It was played in OVER AND OVER and loved to the very last moment!
You might notice that there is NO WALKWAY around the tent. So MULTIPLE times I had to crawl through the tent to answer the door, crawl back through to get whatever said "person" at the door needed and then back through to the person. SUPER EMBARRASSING....but all to prevent tears from 3 of my favorite people in the world!

And here they are. The culprits of the tent building! Sure LOVE them!

Out of the Mouth of Babes

Laiklie: "Mom, wanna know what I learned about in primary today? It is someding VERY SPECIAL. I learned about FAMILIES!"(Yes, I know this picture is SUPER old and it is time for an update....STORY OF MY LIFE!)

I have a family here on earth, they are so good to me. I want to spend my life with them through all eternity. Families can be together forever, through Heavenly Fathers plan. I always want to be with my own family, and the Lord has shown me how I can. The Lord, has shown me how I can!

A Few Funnies

Laiklie has been VERY into writing lately. Her favorite it writing EVERYONES (friends, cousins, random names off TV) names. She brought me this the other night. LOVEY, LOVE, LOVE it! I love that at some point I went from actually having a name to being MOM! Mom Hawkins! Ha, ha!
She made me this note the same night. When she brought it to me I asked, "What does it say? Does it say I love mom?" She kinda got a funny look on her face and said, "No, it says I heart F." Like DUH!! So I asked what I heart F means and she said, "I love mom!" What a funny little thing!
I changed Oakley's insulin pump last night and noticed this as she walked away. HA, HA! Arm buttons!:) We forgot to pull the old site out!
Another funny happened on Monday during family home evening. (OF COURSE!) We were talking about how our testimonies are like little seeds in our hearts that are constantly growing when we are making good choices and learning more about Jesus and Heavenly Father. I asked the kids to each think of just one thing that maybe is a little naughty that they are doing in their lives right now that is making it so their seed can't grow. Rhett was 1st up to answer and said, "Well......I kinda fart alot!" SERIOUSLY! Trying not to laugh I talked about how yes, it is important to have good manners because those will help us come closer to Heavenly Father. Dallin raises his hand and says,"Mom......sometimes you gotta just fart!" I LOST IT!! :) Another family home evening done. CHECK.
And last....here is a video of my little Just Dance Wii kids. I LOVE Laiklie's bouncy skirt and skinny little legs. SHE TOTALLY GETS HER DANCE SKILLS FROM ME!! :)

Grandpa's 90th Birthday

Today is my grandpa Jacobson's 90th birthday. WOW!! I am one of the only people I know that in my 30's I have ALL of my grandparents still living! WHAT A BLESSING!! On Saturday we had a big birthday party for my grandpa. I was incharge of the decorations. I LOVE the way the colors looked together!! LOVE IT!! I also made my grandpa this book you can see on the corner of the table (thanks to all my family who participated). It was full of memories of grandpa. I LOVED reading all the stories from my Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Brothers and Sisters as I received them. I am so grateful to a loving Heavenly Father who sent me to earth as one of Max's granddaughters.
Here is grandpa and grandma. This is just after we sang happy birthday to him. We sang a new version I hadn't heard before.....BUT LOVE!! It went like this:
I don't know but I've been told
Someone here is getting old
The good news is we sing for free
The bad news is we sing off key
Sound off - 1, 2
Sound off - 3, 4
Bring it on down - HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU!
(Ha, ha, HILARIOUS!)

This is a picture we took before the party started of all the family in attendance. This is actually only probably a 3rd of all of us. WE ARE A PRETTY BIG CREW WHEN WE ARE ALL TOGETHER! I was looking at a family tree my aunt made for the day and it said that my grandpa is great-grandpa to 72 (maybe 73??) great grandchildren and no end in sight. I still have alot of cousins not old enough to even get married yet. NOW THAT IS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF! The thing that I think he is probably most proud of though is..............what an amazing family he has. So many temple marriages, all grandsons to this point have served a mission - and a granddaughter, several of his sons have been bishops and even one grandson and one son a patriarch, all his children/grandchildren are active and serve in the church. I am pretty sure I know my grandpa well enough to know that those are the things he is most proud of. My dad said it best when he said that my grandpa used Christ as his anchor and the gospel as his roadmap. I am guessing that's how he made it to 90!! I love you grandpa!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
