Club Ball

While Rhett & I were in California at Nationals, Laiklie had a volleyball tournament in Utah. She rode down and back with another mom, but Oakley & Jax met her there to watch and take care of her. They had a great night in the hotel together and Laiklie loved having big Sis & baby come be with her. I’m so grateful Oakley was able to be there. I hate when my mama heart wants to be in two places at once.

Cheer Nationals

I had the chance to go with Rhett to Cheer Nationals in Anaheim, California. We had a great week together. The first two days were spent at Disneyland with his team. It was so cold and sometimes rainy. We stood in long lines, but had a great time together. The next two days were spent competing. They completed their show routine the first day which did not place, and they completed their pom routine the second day, which got second! Pom was put in a category of its own, because so many teams from Idaho came. We got second to Highland who is out of Pocatello and the third place team was from Blackfoot. We were so excited to beat Blackfoot after they had beat us at state! It was exciting to have all three national teams from Idaho! Rhett and I both cried a few tears after the second day of competing, knowing that it was his last day ever to wear his cheer uniform and compete with his team. So hard to see this journey come to an end. It has been such an incredible ride for him!
On the last day in CA, the cheer team went over to the movies, so me and a couple other moms drove down to the beach. It was the only day that the sun was shining. It felt so good.
Coming home was a little scary. We drove through the scariest snowstorm of our lives. The picture doesn’t even show the reality of how bad it was. There was zero visibility. So scary! We were so glad to be home!

Tech Wars

Laiklie took a welding class at the Tech High this last trimester and LOVED it!! She had her friends Daphnie & Kaitlyn in it with her. They decided to try Tech Wars. Each team is given a blueprint, supplies and 5 hours to finish their project. There were 6 teams. These 3 girls were the only all girls team and were the only Sophomore team. (The other teams were Jr’s & Sr’s) They worked so hard and got SECOND PLACE!! Not too bad for the youngest/all girl team. So excited for them!! Laiklie has loved learning a new skill!
