Dance Recital

Saturday night was our dance recital.  I had to be their early to French braid Oakley's groups hair and forgot my camera.  So I called Ryan and asked him to bring it and he forgot it too! I promise to get pictures at Nationals next weekend!
I did take this super dark picture though.  If you look hard you will see the back of Oakley's head in the directors seat.  What an incredible blessing it has been for her to be able to teach dance this year.  She is such a shy, quiet little thing and this has really made her have to step out of her comfort zone.  One of the sweet girls she teaches handed her a rose after the recital.  Made her day! :) So proud of what an incredible 13 year old she is.

Cousin's Weekend

My sister Arnica's son Kaden had a 2 day track meet here this past weekend and so we were the lucky ones who got to have a cousin slumber party! It was such a rainy weekend (Poor Kaden had to run in it!) that we decided to take the kids to open gym Saturday morning to burn some energy.  They LOVED it!!
Dallin, Paige, Danica, Laiklie, Rhett and Tyce
and when Dallin and Danica move just a little you can see Oakley and Ali lounged out on the mats behind them.  Silly teenage girls!
And here are Oakley and Ali again. You almost cant tell them apart from behind. These two are BEST FRIENDS! They are attached at the hip when they are together! I love that they have each other.  I had cousins like this and am still grateful for my friendship with them!

Sage's Birthday Party

Laiklie got invited to her cousin Sage's birthday party this past weekend and what a fun party! They went rock climbing and I got to be the lucky mom that got to go help!

Yvonne and the birthday girl Sage!
Laiklie wasn't brave enough to go all the way to the top...but if you can see it is WAY UP THERE! I am proud of her for how high she did go! It was a blast!

Power Reader

Laiklie has been going to a reading tutor for a few months just trying to help her with the flow of her reading and she is doing great! I had no idea, but I guess if you accomplish so many things with the tutor you get a trophy and this past week was Laiklie's last week til next school year and she pushed through all the requirements and brought this baby home! I wish I would have known and I would have had my camera out when she came out of the tutors house.  You seriously could not wipe that sweet smile off her face! I am SO PROUD of her! She has worked hard and continues to work hard on her reading!

Best Dad Ever!!!

I know these are crappy pictures, but it very rarely happens that Ryan jumps on the trampoline with my kids so it needed to be documented! :)
He has lost about 50 pounds since January and you can see he is having to hold his pants up to jump.  I am SOOOO PROUD of him! He looks AMAZING!!
 How fun is this??
It looked so fun we even got Oakley out of her room to come try it out!
 I LOVE my little family!!

EASTER 2014

For Easter each year we try to get our kids something that they can do outside.  With it being spring we like to get them out in the sunshine.
This year the hot item for the 3 little kids was rollerblades.  Oakley voted for clothes. Typical teenager! :)
This year I also did their baskets centered around Christ.  I want them to understand why we celebrate Easter.  So along with socks, undies or a summer outfit they got scripture markers,
CTR rings, Laiklie got go fish LDS style....you ask for Bishops or Primary Children (FUN!) and the boys got similar card games.  They all got new posters.  The girls got some of Christ and the boys got the coolest WHO'S YOUR HERO posters. Rhett's is of Samuel the lamanite and Dallin's is of Nephi hunting.  The only candy they got in their baskets this year was egg bubble gum and Rhett had all 12 of his gone by 9 am. ha, ha! Belly ache!!
 Laiklie's new summer outfit.
Rhett got a little stuffed dog in his basket too.  Him and Laiklie LOVE, LOVE, LOVE stuffed animals!
Dallin and his new plaid shirt! He has been BEGGING for a button up plaid shirt since the square dance when he saw how many boys owned them.  My boys DO NOT wear anything with a collar and especially anything with buttons!! He was SO EXCITED to get this though. He wore it to school 3 times last week over t-shirts.  I finally had to explain to him it wasn't like a jacket and you couldn't wear it every day. :)
 EASTER SUNDAY AND SUNDAY DRESSES
Thanks to grandma Hawkins for the new clothes!
I love Easter and celebrating the life of the Savior of the world.  I love spring and the new feel of everything.  I am so blessed to know and be able to teach my children about the sacrifice that was made on our behalf.  What an incredible blessing the Atonement is in our lives!

Annual Egg Hunt 2014

 Hawkins family Easter Egg hunt.

Front row: Macady, Rhett, Ciara, Kiana, Paityn, Sage, Laiklie and Violet
It got a little bigger this year adding Chase's girls.  We had all the grandkids there including just brand new baby Memory.

The Jacobson Kids

My cousin Kyle and his wife Jessica were both going to be out of town a couple weeks ago and so they asked us to keep their girls for them.  We LOVED having them here all week! I LOVED having some little Jacobson's in my house (I will ALWAYS be a Jacobson at heart!).  We were able to do some fun things while they were here.
We colored Easter Eggs.  I love the way Oakley is looking at her nerdy brother and KayLyn just rolls with it. :)
We delivered Easter Baskets to some of the elderly in the ward.  Rhett and Haylee were my best deliverers.
On the last night we took everyone bowling and for ice cream.  When we got there we found out it was Cosmic Bowling Night! Fun!!
 Laiklie
 KayLyn and Dallin
 Oakley
Haylee and Lexie with her glowing shorts and teeth! So cute!
Rhett
It was a fun week and we would keep those sweet girls again in a second! They were great.  It was a little crazy trying to get all 7 kids & myself (I subbed for Jessica at the school all week that week too) out the door by 8 am, but we made it work and had a good time doing it!

Bonneville vrs Bonneville

Bonneville has an INCREDIBLE volleyball program.  Oakley was so blessed to make this team this club season and they have done so well.  There is another team from Bonneville that is just a year younger than ours and there are SEVERAL times and SEVERAL tournaments that these two Bonneville teams end up playing each other for the #1 and #2 spots. It is fun to have all the fans cheering for both sides! Love these girls and I am so proud of them all for their hard work!

5th Grade Square Dance

Dallin is in 5th grade and with that comes the 5th grade square dance.  Back when school started I remember him telling me that since the teacher who was usually incharge of it moved to a different school this past summer that he was super excited he wasn't going to have to do it.  :) Little did he know that the other 5th grade teacher would take over and make sure it still happened!
He acted all manly and tried to talk like he wasn't excited about it....but he talked about it SO MUCH we knew he was! He loved it...but don't tell him we know that! :) All the pictures we got were a little fuzzy, but he is the boy in blue.

I absolutely LOVE the square dance! I love the songs that talk about swing your partner and dosy do and bring your gal back on home! SO FUN!! I am so glad he got the opportunity! What a handsome guy and a pretty good little dancer!! (Don't tell him that either!)
