Dallin's 1st Round of Sr Pics

I can't believe D is a senior this year. What am I going to do without him?!?!
He came home one day telling us he needs a picture to put in the yearbook. I have been BEGGING him since last fall to let Rhett take some senior pictures for him. He hurried and changed his clothes and we drove out to the field. Rhett and him yelled and yelled at each other (the usual) and I yelled at both of them for yelling at each other. And when all was said and done Dallin hated all the pictures. He only let him take a couple so he really didn't have many to choose from. BUT......I LOVED the ones where he was smiling. The smiling ones were the ones he didn't like. (Can you see me rolling my eyes? Teenagers!) I'm hoping he'll be willing atleast one more time to try again...if we can talk Rhett into trying again that is. Stinker brothers!

Rhett's Parenting Baby

Rhett is taking a parenting class this trimester and as part of the class they have to do a baby project. Rhett got this little sweetie over Valentines weekend. He named her Shawty. The way it works is he wears a wristband that is programed with the baby. Anytime the baby cries he first has to chime it with his wristband then figure out what the cry means. It either needs rocked, fed, burped or a diaper change. Each baby is programmed differently, so his 3 best friends all had their babies the same weekend and we found out later that Rhett's was the only one of the 4 programmed on the hardest setting. He took the baby back in Monday morning to find out how he had done and according to the baby settings (they plug it in the computer) he got an 85%. It not only checks to see if they guessed the crying accurately, but it also is able to tell how they treated it. It has a neck sensor and a temperature control, etc. Rhett's teacher grades differently then the baby does though and she failed him because he slept through a 3 hour chunk of time from 2am-5am Monday morning and missed feedings, burps, etc. We were super annoyed that he took great care of it for 2 1/2 days, but since he missed a 3 hour gap she flunked him. Instead of doing extra credit to make up the points he asked if he could redo the assignment. She was a little shocked he wanted to, but agreed to it.

So the following weekend Rhett got baby #2. This time it was a boy named Tyrone (Meatball). My kids are weird, I know. Lol! Because he had already done the assignment once she only made him do 1 1/2 days this time and actually programmed the baby to shut off early Sunday morning. Yay! He did great AGAIN and this time she "combine" the scores and passed him. Thank goodness! This was a great opportunity and a learning experience for Rhett.

The Lund Kids

Our friends Raquelle and Jordan had to run to Utah over Valentines weekend for a family funeral and asked if we would keep the kids. Of course we would! These 2 are some of my favorites! Jemma brings so much happiness into our home.

Its been a long time since I had to sneak out from under a sleepy arm after cuddling a kid to sleep. She is so precious!

We got to take them out to see a few of the new baby calves. Jett loved them. Jett has type one diabetes like Oakley. It's been a few years since I was "in charge" of her care, so it always takes me a minute to get back into that role. We had to change his dexcom while he was here and we made a pretty good team!
Such fun kids! We always love having them in our home.

Dishwasher Leak

Just a few weeks before the wedding we could see that our kitchen floor was bubbling up a little near the sink. It felt a little soggy, but we weren't sure what was going on and were too busy with life to worry about it for a minute. Right after the wedding we had Travis's family here, and then Jenny's family stay with us for a week so we never got around to digging into it. Finally on February 1st we tore up the floor to see what was going on. The dishwasher had been leaking and the floor all the way into the pantry was wet. The baseboard and trim had soaked up part of the water as well so it had to come off too. What a mess. We turned fans on for several days to dry it out. We sanded it, killz painted it and then finally 10 days later.....what felt like an eternity of having a messy, torn up kitchen with the dishwasher in the middle of the floor....we were able to put the flooring back down and the dishwasher back in place. We still aren't sure where or why the dishwasher was leaking, so we bought a tray for under it. So far we haven't had any issues. We were blessed to catch this before it soaked through the floor and into the basement ceiling.

Photographer Reception Pics

Here are just a few she took at the reception. Just little details that are fun to remember.

Photographer Wedding Temple Pics

Mid February the photographer finally got us the wedding pics. These won't print great quality because they were screen shots of the originals, but she did a great job and I was excited to have them finished.

Trav's Boys

This picture is a little out of order, but I didn't want to miss it! Travis and Bekah's family weren't able to come for the wedding because of a conflict with their ranch help, but were able to come the day after. They spent the weekend with us and were able to ordain Emmett to a Teacher and Casey to a Deacon on Sunday afternoon in our home. It was so neat to be able to have these special ordinations done in our home, allowing mom and dad to be able to be here for it. We love any chance we get to have Travis's family here...especially that cute little Stella girl! ;)

A House Full

My sister Jenny's family moved to Idaho the end of January to be closer to family as my mom is fighting cancer. When they got here they hadn't found a rental home yet so they spent the first week with us. It was fun to have my house full of their family and our family several times. It was fun to see the cousins interact and get to know each other better. We are so blessed to have an amazing family and it will be fun to have them close!

Camille's Birthday

Camille moved to Idaho with her little family just a couple days before her birthday. Her, Miriam, Laiklie, baby Matthew and I went to lunch that day and then over to Walmart for her to pick out a cake. Her family was also moving to Idaho and arrived at my house that evening, just in time for cake. It was fun to all be together to celebrate her 23rd!

Club Volleyball

Laiklie decided to play club volleyball this year. She had her first 2 day tournament in Salt Lake in January. Her team played 3 teams the first night, 3 the next morning and then bracket play that afternoon. They struggled....they are very inexperienced, but she played great. She had awesome serves and several great hits. It was so fun to be able to be there to watch her. We are excited to see how much this team grows and changes over the next few months.

Laiklie

Rhett rented a lens to take the senior cheerleaders pictures and while he had it he decided to do a quick photo shoot with Laiklie. Such a gorgeous girl!
