Happy Halloween Hawkins Style

Oakley did Laiklie's hair and make-up for a creepy photoshoot. They went over to our sweet neighbor's old house that works perfect for this. Rhett also did several ghost photo shoots. Hilarious!

Oakley and Logan got invited to his families Halloween party. There was a prize for best costume so they decided to dress up like his sister Lindee and her husband Ryan. Logan had to be Lindee though because they look so much alike. So funny! They had a great time coming up with the costumes and surprising his family. Too fun!

Pumpkin Carving

It took some talking to get these kids interested in carving pumpkins. It also took a lot of muscle since the pumpkins were frozen. hahaha. So glad they go along with my crazy holiday ideas.

Dallin legit CLEANED HIS OUT! Like, not a string left in it at all. So funny!

Chasing the Sunshine

Ryan had to run an auger over to Boise the end of October and after 2 solid weeks of windy weather here it was SO NICE to find the sunshine! My body seriously craves it! I loved tagging along.

Painting the Pumpkin 2020

Our annual Hawkins family pumpkin painting. It's always a fun time. This year grandpa talked some of the big kids into writing a little message on the back of the pumpkin. Too funny! We all got a good giggle out of it, including grandma. Great grandma and grandpa even made it. They watched from their car because of covid. It was fun to have them here too.

Ryan & Natalie

He's pretty much my favorite!

Brooklyn's Wedding

Oakley's best friend and duet partner Brooklyn got married on October 9th in Utah. Oakley was asked to be a bridesmaid and was so excited to be there to support her. Her and Logan drove down and back the same day so they could be back to be a bridesmaid and groomsman at their other BFF Katie and Colmon's wedding the next day. She was able to leave Katie's reception early enough to make it to Brook's Idaho reception and be a part of the flash clogging mob. Hahaha! We are so grateful for the part Brook has played in Oakley's life. They have traveled the world together and hold a special place in each others hearts and always will. We explained to Brook's husband that we come as a package deal! He doesn't get her without us. Lol!

The Dangerous Life

The farm life is sometimes kinda sketchy. I always get nervous when I look out my window to see things like this going on. Yikes! This is roofing the new addition to the building across the canal behind my house.

Lunch Date with Our Mama

My mom gets blue when she goes too long without seeing her kids. I could tell a little sadness was setting in, so I arranged for them to meet Arnica and I in Pocatello one day after her appointments for lunch. It was a beautiful day and we were able to find a place in the sunshine to sit and eat lunch and visit. These days are good days. We aren't letting cancer take our joy.

Look-A-Likes

I spent a day at my moms house helping take care of her while my dad was in the temple recently and while there she had me scan in some pictures for my dads personal history. While scanning them in I came across this picture and was blown away as to how much at this age my dad looks like my Rhett. I wish I had a better side-by-side picture, but even with this one you can see the resemblance. So crazy! I never knew Rhett looked like my dad!

Dallin's Senior Project

Dallin decided to redo the front end of his yellow Ford for his senior project. He worked hard on getting it finished and all the paperwork to pass the class. I'm so proud of him for doing such a great job!

General Conference

Down time between sessions looks like this at our house. What you can't see is these 5 giggling like crazy as they play a game on their phones. I LOVE when my kids want to be together!

Happy Birthday Laiklie

On September 28, 2020, Laiklie turned 14. She had Sage over the night before for a sleepover. All she wanted was one of those giant sweatshirt/blankets. She loves it! Laiklie is still the icing on the cake in our family. Happy Birthday Sweet Girl! We love you like crazy!

Rhett's 16!!!

On September 21, 2020, Rhett turned 16. He was surprised that morning when his friends showed up to take him to breakfast. He has an amazing group of friends. We are so grateful for each of them!

He did a photoshoot at midnight as he turned 16. He is so incredibly talented to be able to take pictures like this!

When you turn 16 at our house it is tradition to get 16 presents. It's so fun to find 16 gifts to give. Rhett is a great kid! He brings a lot of joy to our life and family. Happy 16th Birthday Rhett!

Angel Baby

On September 9, 2020 it was 19 years since I delivered this sweet little peanut baby in my toilet. Still 19 years later it is painful to think about my lost little baby. My heart hurt tremendously as I went through my miscarriage. This baby was due between my two nieces and as I watched them head off to college this fall I couldn't help but wonder again, as I had so many other times, what if? What if this hadn't been my path? Then I look at my Dallin who came just one short year later and I wonder if I'd have had that baby, would I have him? I don't know the answers, but I do know that I wouldn't change any of it. The Lord works in mysterious ways and I'm grateful for the beautiful heartbreak I've been through. I look forward to being the mama to this sweet baby someday.
