Ozone Hike

I have been dying to go hike down through the canyon at Hawkins property in Ozone. I finally had an afternoon today that I could go. The wind was insane, but I talked Rhett into going with me. We hike well together. We both have long legs and long strides and like to hurry up and get there. Lol! We hiked down through the canyon and back up on the ridge. Such a gorgeous hike. Sad to see all the fire damage from a few years ago through the trees and sage brush though. I'm so glad we were able to get away for just a little while and get out and go!

Camille & Gilbert

My niece Camille got engaged the other day to a great kid named Gilbert. We are so excited for her! She has been at college for the past couple years preparing herself to be a great little wife and mother. I am so excited she even found the farm boy she was looking for. Gilbert is a great kid and we are truly happy for them. They asked Rhett to do their engagement pictures. He only took 850, hahaha! I don't have any of the edited ones on my phone, but even unedited he did an incredible job! Here is just a sneak peek at the 850.

Summertime Pets

I'm not sure if I posted about this already of not, but a few weeks ago while I was in town I got a call from the boys. I had left them home to mow the lawn and their call was to tell me that they had found 2 kittens under the propane tank. I told them to leave them there so their mom could find them and Dallin announced to me that they were going to be their new moms. 😂😂 Once I got home and saw the size of them we decided they were big enough that the mom probably kicked them off so we decided the boys could keep them. Diesel doesn't do well with kittens so we know this can end bad, but after several weeks in the garage we have been able to move them outside without Diesel bothering them too much. Rhett named this black fuzzy thing Cake (always food names....such a weird kid!) and they named Dallin's kitten Pissy because it was more wild than the other and constantly hissing at them. Luckily it has decided it likes us and has stopped hissing at us all the time.

Then.....just earlier this week Dallin, Rhett and Laiklie were zipping around on the 4-wheeler busy with some sort of project when Dallin came and announced to me they were going to go get 4 bunnies from a friend of his. What?!?! These crazy kids! It didn't look like I had much say in the matter since they had already finished a bunny cage for them. 😉 They are white with red eyes....which are definitely not my favorite, but the kids are loving having them. So my plan is to keep them for the summer (or until they have babies, because we all know they will definitely have babies!) and then give them away as quick as possible. :) I love that my kids love this crazy farm life, even if we are farmers to kittens and rabbits. Lol!

BFF Photoshoot

Oakley and Lauren talked Rhett into doing a best friends photoshoot the other day. These two have been best friends since elementary. What a blessing a best friend is! These two girls are absolutely gorgeous! Rhett did a fabulous job on all of their pictures (he took a ton!) but my very favorite are the ones of them laughing. Those are the pictures they are going to remember. The memories made during the photoshoot is better than any picture they took. Sure love them both!

OUR YARD!!!!!

We FINALLY, FINALLY, FINALLY started our yard on June 17, 2019. Just 3 years after we moved in is all.  Hahaha! I am SOOOOO GLAD to finally be started on it! We got some dirt hauled in and everything planted that can be flooded. We have the stuff to start the sprinkler system around the house, I am just patiently waiting for Ryan to finish getting the hay up and hauled so we can start. We have been watering the new grass seed like crazy and praying that it will come up! I am SO READY to have grass! Yay for getting started!!!

Teachers Campout

The teachers quorum went on a campout last weekend. Rhett is not a fan of campouts (mostly because people eat at them and group eating is not a comfortable thing for Rhett to have to deal with!) so I was a little surprised he wanted to go. I was thrilled though! I knew they would have a great time and I love when Rhett steps outside his comfort zone because he always enjoys himself when he does. They fished, hiked, swam, bridge jumped and shot guns along with staying up late. He is the one in the black sweatshirt. I stole a few pictures off the ward facebook page. :) I am so glad he went and had a great time with his quorum.

Summer Fun

Laiklie got invited by her good friend Samantha to Rexburg Rapids the other day. The weather was beautiful and they both had a great time together. I got to hear about the "super cute" life guards they were stalking all afternoon. Hahaha! Such silly girls!

Romrell's Mission Report

Ryan's grandpa and grandma Romrell returned from their mission (I think this was their 8th if I'm counting correctly) recently and we were able to go listen to them report in sacrament meeting. We got there a few minutes early and decided to run up to the Wilford Cemetery. I love that so many of Ryan and my family are buried by each other in the cemetery. It was so good to take the kids to see my Murdock grandparents graves. We didn't get any pictures of the returned missionaries that day....bummer! But I was glad we got to enjoy two sets of grandparents. 💓

Freezing at the Soccer Games

My sister Arnica's daughter Danica had a two day soccer tournament in Rexburg so we got lucky and they stayed the night with us. Arnica and I braved the cold/rain for all 4 games. We drug Lailklie along to the last one. It was so fun to sit bundled up together cheering her on!

Lightning Storms

Rhett has been trying to get a good picture of lightning since summer started, so anytime there is a storm we bundle up and head out to watch. So far no luck on any real prize winner pictures, but we still have a lot of summer to try and catch one. For now I just enjoy chasing the storms with these two!

Stinker Rhett!

Stinker Rhett and his selfies! Anytime I leave my phone unattended for even a few minutes I come back to these crazy selfie surprises.  If I'm lucky he usually changes them to my screen saver/wallpaper for me! 😏

Kilgore

Ryan and I got to take a couple drives up to Kilgore this spring and I can't ever get enough of it while I am there. Kilgore holds a special place in my heart. Our land borders the Sheep Station land and is close to the Hinegar Ranch the station owns that I grew up exploring and catching frogs on. We used to camp as a family in Kilgore and my years at girls camp were spent here as well. Such a neat thing that the Hawkins family ended up with land in such a special place to me.

A Little Girlie and her Daddy

This girl has always been a daddy's girl. She still snuggles up with him anytime he will let her. 💓

The Babies!

Yvonne had a race in Utah and asked us to keep the babies for the two days and night that she was gone. Things are always a little crazy while they are here, but we always have fun with them. They are at such fun ages where they say and do hilarious things. We are blessed to have them next door! We decided while they were here to take them to the zoo and a couple parks. We wore them out, but had a great time together!

My Garden

I have discovered that I actually like having a garden. I don't love weeding it, but do love the way it looks when the plants are coming up and it is freshly weeded. I love, love, love the years I can get pumpkins to grow. Not that I use them for anything besides jack-o-lanterns....but for some crazy reason I love pumpkins! Dallin was so sweet and rototilled over and over and over with this new itty bitty rototiller that Ryan got until the dirt was just perfect for his mom! (and his back ached!) I appreciated it so much! I sure love him!

Laiklie's Awards Assembly

It is so hard to believe that our baby is finished with elementary school! It seems like just yesterday we were taking Oakley to kindergarten there and now all 4 kids are finished. Time just won't slow down! Laiklie had a great year in 6th grade. She finished as the States Game Queen AGAIN! Two years in a row! Yay! She also received the highest award for having a 4.0 all year and scoring atleast an 8th grade level on her math testing. Sooooo proud of her for working hard this year and doing so well. She is such a sweet girl and is surrounded by amazing friends. She is more then ready for Middle School!
