Fence Fire

About 11 pm one night Dallin got a call from one of his buddies telling him that as he drove past our house he noticed that our fence was on fire. Stan and Nick (the hired guy) had been burning ditches earlier in the day and apparently didn't get this fire out before leaving it.  The weeds caught the posts and smoke turned to flames. It was only about 3 posts on fire, but it was out in the corals where water wasn't easily accessible and of course, Ryan wasn't home!! So Dallin and I pulled on boots, grabbed the shovels and headed out to fight the fence fire. We were able to get some of it out, but trying to get dirt up on the posts was nearly impossible. We were only out there about 15 mins when Ryan and Dale got home from the ranch. Dale ran and got the water truck and came back and hosed it down for a good 30/45 mins. We didn't climb into bed until about 12:30am. What a blessing to have neighbors watching out for us that night!

Compare-A-Face

The family search app now has a compare-a-face game that the kids and I tried out one night. It was so much fun and had us giggling. I LOVE that my boys look like my dad's grandpa's. πŸ’“ Such a neat way to connect with our past. I don't see Oakley looking as much like grandpa Ashment as it thinks she does and I think its funny Laiklie looks like the grandpa with the beard! HAHAHA! We were having so much fun with it we tried my parents pictures as well. My mom really does look like her daddy! and my dad.....HAHAHA....I laughed so hard that he looks like the grumpy old grandma. HAHAHA! It still makes me laugh! πŸ˜‚

Sunny AZ

Linn took us girls on another quick get away to Arizona. We flew out on Easter Sunday afternoon and home Thursday morning. It was seriously just what I needed. The sunshine was heaven! We visited with family (grandparents, and cousins Vanessa and Jennifer), went to a couple movies, did a little shopping and alot of eating, rented some scooters which were seriously SO FUN and laid out in the sun as much as we could squeeze in. It was such a needed get away. I was blessed with the best when I married into Ryan's family!

Coloring Eggs

I know my kids are teenagers, but I seriously don't think you are ever too old to color eggs. Dallin however disagrees. (Eye Roll!) He fought me on dying just 5 eggs and put them all in the same color to just hurry and be finished with it. This is the only picture I got of him helping. Stinker! 16 yr olds are a pain! :) Rhett, Laiklie and Sage had a good time making a mess and mixing the eggs/colors. Such a fun tradition.

Annual Easter Egg Hunt

We had our Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 13th this year and did a lunch instead of breakfast trying to work around everyone's schedules. I think we were only missing Oakley and Kiana. It was a chilly, fun day.

Our New Driver

Rhett got his drivers permit on March 22nd (exactly 6 months + 1 day after his 14th birthday...he was ticked the 21st was a Sunday so he had to wait a day. Hahaha!). He has been counting down the days till driving for an entire year! He did online drivers ed and hustled through it and his drives and is now on to getting his 60 required hours of driving before his birthday. So exciting....the kind of scary excitingπŸ˜¬πŸ˜±πŸ˜‰.....but exciting!

Sister Jacobson

My niece, Madeline Jacobson, flew home from her mission on April 12, 2019. She served in the Independence, Missouri Mission. She is such an incredible girl! It was so fun to be at the airport when she arrived and to listen to her on Easter Sunday report her mission. I am SO VERY PROUD of her and the example she set for her family!
And.....this picture of her and grandpa hugging and the emotion in her face about puts me in tears every time I look at it. πŸ’“
