Stupid Cats

Dallin and Rhett got these two kittens (Pissy and Cake) during the summer. We've since learned that Cake is a boy and Pissy a girl. We've been praying we don't end up with kittens since we haven't had time to go get either of them fixed yet. During the winter we also have Luella's cat that we feed while she is in Arizona. The kids call her grandma cat and of course, Diesel dog. You can see from the position of all of them who rules the roost. Stupid Cake! He pushes everyone else aside (including the dog) when there is food around.
The other night while we were watching the cats eat, another wild cat that the kids have nicknamed Grandpa Cat came up on the deck, very hesitantly, to eat with the others. We have so much snow now I think finding mice has been hard for them. As we were watching them seeing if Grandpa cat would stick around all the sudden from the stairs of deck we see ANOTHER cat head! 😂😂 What in the heck! Five cats on the deck and only 2 1/2 of them are ours. The kids call this new cat Grandpa's mistress Karen. So funny! We haven't seen Karen or Grandpa cat since, but maybe they'll show up again on another cold hungry night. :)

Working Cows in the Cold

On January 3rd we preg checked the cows. It was a COLD day to work cows. Trying to keep needles from freezing is always a little crazy!

And of course, Chase had to show Dallin who was the bigger of the two. My kids are so blessed to grow up with Dale and Chase as their uncles. They have been teasing them since day one.

More Christmas Break Fun!

These 4 wore us out over Christmas break. They stayed up till 1:30am almost nightly. They played hard, giggled harder and were all out exhausting for their poor parents. I wouldn't trade any of it for the world! And yes....they do all fit into the pantry and after they got Dallin in with them I did turn off the lights and hold the door shut. 😂

 Emoji Facemasks....because, why not??
Dallin got to go snowmachining with his cousin JD and friend Dylan one day up to Island Park. It is crazy to me that we can just send these three 17 year old boys out and they know what they are doing and how to do it with everything from loading, to unloading and fixing their sleds. They are such good kids! We are blessed! They had so much fun together that day and Dallin had video after video after video to show us.

Rhett also spent a day on the ski hill with his best friend Raegan and Dallin went night skiing a few days later with his cousin Colton. Laiklie had her friend Chelsea over one day, Emily over another day and Sage over several days.We played alot of the game Cover Your Assets, watched alot of Redbox movies and ate and ate and ate. Such a fun break and an even better year!

Christmas Break

Is it really even Christmas break if two teenage boys don't move both queen size beds into the same room for the entire two weeks?!?!
This isn't really my style. I HATE messes, BUT I love two little boys, so I roll with it! :) I'm so glad that at the end of the day these two (plus their sister...you can tell from the pink pillow) snuggle in together to watch a movie. I hope that as they grow older my kids just continue to become best friends.

Christmas 2019

We had a great Christmas this year. It doesn't look like many presents under the tree....teenagers ask for smaller, more expensive things we've learned. Everybody got what they wanted. Oakley got money to help pay for her dance tour this summer, a ton of clothes, a makeup artist chair (that never showed up - Amazon bummer!) and some giftcards. Dallin got a toolbox (that he actually found hiding in the shop a month before Christmas), a helmet, googles and gloves for his snowmachine, an Ol'son sweatshirt (a comedian he likes) and some airpods. Rhett got airpods, a laptop for his photography and clothes. Laiklie got new clogging shoes, clothes, makeup and a new phone. Gram and Gramp Jake even sent a new toy for Diesel. :)
After we opened presents we went to grandma Hawkins for lunch and more gifts. Our favorite picture of the day was the one I took of Ember climbing into her bag trying to get everything out of the bottom. hahaha! So funny! We had a great Christmas and tried once again to teach our kids that Christmas is first, foremost and always about the Savior of the world. We are so incredibly blessed! 💓

Christmas Eve 2019

The kids realized Christmas Eve morning that they hadn't drawn names and bought gifts for each other yet so we loaded up and headed to Rigby. This year we did something different. We took them to the dollar store and told them they had to buy 5 things for the person whose name they had. We had some interesting gifts.....like the hair dye  Oakley and Rhett bought for Ryan and I to help cover our gray and the ramen noodles Dallin bought for Oakley to take to college. 😂 We hit Wendy's afterwards. It was a fun morning together.
Christmas Eve night we cooked dinner and took it with us out to Dubois. My mom had shoulder surgery on December 13th so she was still laying low and trying to take care of herself. We spent the evening with them and read the Christmas story out of the bible before we headed home. Family makes everything better, including Christmas time!

2019 Grandma Christmas Party

We lucked out again this year that all the cousins were able to make it to grandma Linn's Christmas party. This year it was just a few hours and not a sleepover, which was actually nice. I loved that the  pajamas were all matching from Autumn to Oakley. So cute!
