Cali Day 3

On Wednesday we drove to Anaheim to Knotts Berry Farm. The lines were crazy long. We didn’t get to ride many rides, but had a good day. As we headed to the car Danica started feeling sick and threw up. We had tickets to a hockey game so we headed over to that. It was awesome! Most of us had not been to a professional hockey game. The players were incredible to watch. Danica continued to throw up at the game and all night long. :( Kind of a rough end to the day for her. Luckily, the rest of us had a good day.

CA Day 2

Tuesday morning we drove from our hotel in Huntington Beach down to Newport Beach. We started with a quick walk on their pier and then headed over to Balboa Fun Zone. We rode the Ferris wheel, and Laiklie tried out the jumping trampoline before we headed out whale watching. We unfortunately didn’t see any whales, but we saw a ton of dolphin. It was incredible! They are such beautiful animals and was such a fun new thing for our family to experience. That evening we found an arcade for the kids to burn some energy out at. Another great day!

California Day 1

We got to California at about 1 PM on Monday. The car rental company didn’t have our car ready so they actually put us in a Mercedes Benz. The kids thought that was awesome! Lol. It was the warmest day we were there, so we headed straight to the beach after meeting up with the Shumway‘s. The kids played and played and played in the ocean! It was so nice to sit in the sun and just watch them enjoy the day. After showering all the sand off, we went to dinner at a Mexican restaurant, and then walked out on the pier. Such a great start to our vacation!

Christmas 2022

Our Christmas this year was a little different. We decided to take Rhett and Laiklie on a trip with their Shumway cousins to California. So Christmas morning was simple. Oakley’s family and Dallin got gifts and Rhett and Laiklie got a few things in their stocking. Christmas fell on a Sunday this year. Dad stayed the night with us and we were able to watch the Christmas nativity on Christmas Eve and then after opening presents Christmas morning we went to church. The Sunday program was beautiful as always. After a turkey lunch, and spending some time together in the afternoon Ryan, Rhett, Laiklie and I loaded up and headed to Utah. We had an early flight the next morning. Such a wonderful day with family celebrating the Savior’s birth.

Cemetery Visit

On Christmas Eve we ran down to the cemetery to take flowers and a little tree to my mom‘s grave. When we got there the snow was so deep we dug and dug and dug and couldn’t find her. :( We did happen to find grandma and grandpa Jacobson, so we left the flowers and tree there. We know they’ll share it with mom.
