Arizona

Ryan and I celebrate our 25th anniversary in February. In January we were able to spend four days in Arizona with his grandpa Max. We had such a great time! The weather was absolutely beautiful. The first day we took Max on a ride on the Dolly Steamboat. It was beautiful. We even got to see a few bighorn sheep! The second day, Ryan and I drove out to Sun City to see our sweet friend Luella. We spent the day visiting with her. She took us to lunch and to see some of the rec centers there by her house. We did a scenic walk at one of them that was gorgeous. And of course she sent us home with plenty of fruit from her fruit trees! :) On the third day Ryan wasn’t feeling very well from a cold. So we drove out to see the Gilbert Temple, and then enjoyed laying out in the sunshine. We had a lot of fun being together and spending time with his grandpa. It was just what both of us needed!

Tyce’s Mission Farewell

Our nephew Tyce is headed to Zimbabwe on his mission. In January he had his mission farewell. He did an excellent job on his talk!! I was so glad we got to be there. Rhett and Tyce are only one month apart in age. They have been best friends since day one. Rhett is going to miss him like crazy! We sure love him!

Jax Gymnastics

For Christmas I got Oakley and Jax a mommy and me gymnastics class. They have been going for about six weeks now and he’s finally getting more comfortable. He’s scared of the teacher. Lol! I love when Oakley sends me pictures of him though. He looks like he loves it.

Club Volleyball - 1st Tourney

Laiklie had her first club volleyball tournament in the middle of January. It was in North Salt Lake. Oakley was having a few hard days, so her, Logan and Jax drove up on Friday to watch Laiklie‘s last game. We got to the hotel early enough that they even got to sit in the hot tub and swim for a minute. Jax loved it! They stayed the night with us at the hotel and watched her first game Saturday morning. My sister Jenny came and watched all of Saturday with me too. It was so good to catch up with her. Laiklie played well!  It was a great start to her club season!

Laiklie’s Accident

Laiklie called me on her way home from school on January 18th in a panic. She had caught some slush with her back tire and started to spin. As she got closer to the edge of the road,  she panicked worried that if she went off at the angle she was going that she would roll her car. So she turned and hit it straight on. It shot her up over the ditch and into a farmers field. Her car came to a stop on a culvert. When Ryan and I got there and saw the situation we were shocked she hadn’t rolled it. She was definitely being watched over and blessed! She was super sore that evening and the next day. Luckily, we were able to pull the car off the culvert, cut the bumper off of it, and drive it home. Such a scary day for her!

Logan’s Birthday

Logan turned 24 in January of this year. Oakley sent me these cutest pictures from them going out to birthday breakfast! Happy Birthday Logan! What an incredible blessing he has been to our family! We couldn’t ask for a better son-in-law!

Cheer Comp Season ‘24

This year has been a little different watching the cheer competitions without Rhett on the mat. It’s fun to see him get the opportunity to coach. This was the first competition I was able to go to this year. It just so happened that two of the boys he used to cheer with were there supporting the team as well. I made them let me take their picture so that I could compare it to the one when Rhett was a freshman. I’m so grateful he still has the opportunity to be a part of something he loves so much!
