Family

My favorite place to be is TOGETHER!!

Matt & Maddie

On December 13, my niece Maddie and her husband Matt were able to be sealed in the temple. My dad performed the sealing. It was so neat to be there with them on such a special day. My sister Jenny came too and even stayed the night with me which just made it that much better. :)

Ice Fishing

The beginning of December was so cold, we actually hadn't received much snow though, so Ryan decided it was perfect conditions to go ice fishing. We were able to drive right into the ranch. The outside edges of the lake were thick enough we are able to drill holes and do a little fishing. It was so bitter cold. I sat in the truck and watched most of the time, but him and Rhett had a great time catching some fish.

Advent Calendars

I decided this year I wanted to do things a little different. So the only decorations I put up or my Christmas tree covered in pictures, and the names of the Savior, and my nativities. (Which Jax loved!)
I also decided since all of the kids are adults now and Christmas looks a little different for us to do advent calendars. So each kid opened an advent calendar on December 1. Logan's were brain teasers, Oakley's were lotions, soaps, perfumes, etc., Dallin's were different types of jerky, including some interesting ones like crocodile and ostrich, Rhett's was a puzzle, and Laiklie's was jewelry. It was so fun to have some thing to open each day as we got closer to Christmas. Little Jax even got a nativity advent calendar. He wasn't very good about opening them each day. By about day four he had the whole thing open. Hahaha!!

Rhett's Tonsil Surgery

Rhett had tonsil surgery the Monday before Thanksgiving. The doctor said they were so full of puss and infection that he put him on an anabiotic while he healed as well. He did great the first three or four days of recovery, but day five through 14 were a little rough. He's a tough kid, and we are glad to have that behind us.

Grandma's Birthday Party

Ryan & Linn's birthday fell on Thanksgiving this year. Linn was going to be out of town so we did a birthday party a few days before she left. We surprised her this year with photo books we had made of the cousins from the pumpkin painting, Christmas parties, Easter Egg hunts, etc. The grandkids loved looking through the books too.

Hauling Cows

Jax and I got to go count the cows as they came off the truck when they hauled them home in November. Jax loved watching them come off the truck and talked about the "cows in the semi trailer" for a long time afterward.
