Wind Storm

On September 8th we had this insane wind storm. It happened just as it was getting dark so we could hear all the cracking and crashing of trees coming down, but couldn't see the damage until morning. We had 4 HUGE trees come down. One fell across the road right next to Diesels kennel. Probably scared the poor dog to death. The others were in the pasture where Dales horses were at the time. They took out an entire end of panels and created what Dale called our "organic" fence. Hahaha. We were so lucky the horses didn't get hurt in all the craziness. We were able to get the tree across the road out of the way, but the other 3 are still laying in a twisted, tangled mess in the pasture. Hopefully we can take care of them in the spring.

BFF's

Speaking of BFF's these 4 have been besties since 1st grade and now they are to the age of getting married. Alicia was first, followed by Katie. Next is Oakley's turn and shortly after Lauren's. What an incredible group of girls Oakley got to grow up with. We count them as one of our greatest blessings.

High School Seniors

On the first day of school I was looking back through the pictures and found this precious one. Hard to believe these two cuties were starting their senior year this year. Where has the time gone? We are so grateful for Nate and the best friend he's been to Dallin since Kindergarten.

First Day of School Fall 2020

The school year ended so rough in the spring of 2020 when in the middle of March they sent the kids home and they never actually went back. It was so hard on all of them. We were so excited and grateful that the kids got to go back to school IN SCHOOL instead of online! Hallelujah! This year Dallin is a senior, Rhett a sophomore and Laiklie in 8th grade.
The YW leaders left this on our lawn to wish Laiklie luck on her 1st day of school. What sweet ladies.
Dallin telling his dog goodbye. Such a fun kid!
Rhett had cheer that morning so he left at a different time then the other two. That's why he had to be in his own picture.

I sure love these kids. It's always so hard to send them back to school. I feel like school is the thief to our happiness....lol....I know that it's so important. I just love them being at home with their mama. :)

Farming Comes with Weird Jobs

As the wife of the farmer I get asked to do some random things. This first day I was the keeper of the gate. I had to sit by the gate at the ranch and make sure cows didn't get out as the boys drove in and out with the grain trucks. I did it for 2 days in a row. Kinda boring...but I loved soaking up the sun.

A few days later I was a fire fighter as they burned the fields. I was responsible for driving the water truck. They ended up having to teach me how to start the generator and actually use the big water hose. It came in handy. I had to put 2 fires out on my own that kept trying to take off. I love living on the farm and learning as I go.

This was the guy from the DEQ that they send out to monitor the field burning. Ryan called me from the far end of the field to see how things were on my end. I replied, "We are good!" He said, "Who is WE?" Oh....you know....me and this guy! HAHAHA!

8th Grade Volleyball

Laiklie decided this year after years of taking a break from volleyball that she wanted to tryout for the team. We were so excited when she made it. They even used her as a starter the entire season. It was so fun to get to watch her play along side some great girls. They won some and lost some. This is a very young, pretty inexperienced team, but they have a lot of natural talent that can become something great with hard work as they grow over the next few years. I'm so glad she decided to come back to volleyball. We loved watching her!

The Girls of Grain Harvest

I usually just have to make sure the guys are fed during harvest, but every once in a while I have to be one of the drivers. I always like it so much better when I can talk this girl into going with me. The farm life isn't for the faint of heart! Tough girls required!
