Seminary Graduation

Rhett had Seminary graduation on Sunday, June 4. He was not excited about going. We are proud of him for putting in the four years it takes to graduate from seminary even if he didn’t want to go to graduation.:)

Senior All-Nighter

I got to chaperone Rhett’s senior all nighter from 1 AM to 4 AM. During the shift that I had the hypnotist came. Rhett was one of the 20 kids selected to be hypnotized. It was absolutely hilarious and I’m so glad I was there for it!
A couple of my favorite parts… They told them that their butts were on fire from the food they had eaten that evening. Every time they played the same Mexican song, the kids that were hypnotized would run into the audience and find somebody to “ cool their butt off on.” It was absolutely hilarious! They would tackle kids and then rub their little bums on them. Rhett’s poor best friend Raegan got sat on over and over by not only Rhett, but by his friend Sophie as well. So funny!
My favorite part was just before they woke them up, they told the boys that they were Disney princesses until they left the gym that night. They were to sign autographs, and after signing the autograph, they were to pinch the cheek of the person they signed it for. They were also told that if anybody claimed that the hypnotists were not real, they were to defend them. When Rhett woke up, he believed he was Princess Diana. He signed everybody’s arm Diana and pinched their little cheeks. It was absolutely hilarious! After signing his best friend Raegan’s arm, she told him that the hypnotists weren’t real. He licked his fingers, and scrubbed his autograph off of her arm. He was so mad at her. He grabbed her arm and marched her over so that she could apologize to the hypnotist before he would resign her arm. We laughed and laughed. After he left the gym that night, it took us a little while to convinced him that he was the one that signed everybody’s arm, Princess Diana. He even signed mine. I was so glad I could be there. What a fun night!

Rhett’s Graduation!!

Rhett graduated on June 2, 2023. He was part of the senior class officers, so he got to sit on the stage and fist bump all 250 kids as they receive their diplomas. Pretty exciting! We are so proud of him. He has worked hard to get through high school. He has several college credits already under his belt, and a good start for his future. He’s a great kid and we sure love him!

Jax is ONE!

Jax turned one on June 2, 2023. Because of his uncle Rhett and his uncle Kade graduating on his birthday we celebrated the night before on June 1. We had the Andrus family and grandparents/great grandparents over for cake and ice cream. Jax absolutely hated the birthday hat. Hahaha! Once he tasted the frosting though he was hooked on the cake. It was so fun to watch him dig in and grab fists full of cake. Such a sweet little baby! He was the perfect addition to our family.

Elementary Walk

On June 1, 2023, the seniors got to walk the halls of their old elementary schools in their caps and gowns. So fun! Before they started, Rhett and I stopped in at the library really quick to see if his state game champ map was still hanging on the wall. It was so fun to still see it there after all these years. It was fun watching them walk the halls and give all the little kids high fives. Such an exciting time in life!
My favorite part of the day was after they walked, they got to go in the gym to play one last game of dodgeball. They begged to do the parachute. When the PE teacher pulled it out, they flipped it up in the air and all climbed up under it. They sat there FOREVER not wanting to give up those childhood memories. I’m so grateful I was there to watch.

Senior Sunset

All of these fun, end-of-the-year senior activities for Rhett. They had their senior sunset a couple nights before graduation. Rhett is on the bottom row 4th one in from the left.

And what we really did on memorial day…

Ryan was a little shorthanded to start the summer, and trying to get jobs done between rain storms has been tricky. So he took Rhett, Laiklie and I over to Burley on Memorial Day to help put up the roof of a bin. We had two other kids with us. We were a Pretty good six man crew! We worked hard and got the roof up within just a few hours.
