Idaho State Clogging Comp 2020

March 6th and 7th was our annual Idaho State Clogging Competition. It is always an exciting (and long) two days! Oakley and Laiklie's little teams danced on Friday. They did so well, both getting 1st's on both dances. One of them was even nominated for the Judges Choice award, which is a new award and seriously so cool! On Saturday their advanced team danced also getting both 1st's on their two team dances. We were so excited that all three teams did so well this year and all qualified for Nationals.

Oakley and Laiklie danced on Saturday as well. Oakley did her long duet with her friend Logan, her acapella, freestyle and solos. Laiklie had 4 team dances, acapella, freestyle, 2 long duets and solos. They both danced their guts out and scored really well. Oakley and Logan's long duet was the top duet of the day and they won OVERALL LONG DUET! It was awesome! They worked so hard on this duet so this was well deserved! Such a fun weekend! 

 

Cheer Districts

On February 29th Rhett's cheer team had Cheer Districts. They were very nervous going into it knowing that we have some incredible cheer squad's in our district that they were going to have to beat out for a spot at state. They had 3 events - so 3 chances. They worked hard as a team and looked SOOOO GOOD that day! Everything hit just like it was suppose to. We knew they had done well and as Bee's fans were so excited! It was incredible as they announced that the Bonneville Bee's were going to state in ALL 3 events!! and what was even better is when they announced that the Bonneville Bee's were the DISTRICT CHAMPIONS! They were the top team of the day! I am so proud of Rhett for taking a chance on cheer and sticking it out when it got miserable there in the middle! What an incredible opportunity, as a freshman, to qualify for State! So cool!

Disney's Frozen Jr. 2020

This was my last year volunteering as a co-director of the Drama Club at our elementary. I no longer have a kid at the elementary, but my best friend Hollie (and the actual director!) does so I agreed to help her just one more year. It is SOOO MUCH WORK! Trying to get 80+ kids to learn 14 scenes and all the songs of a play with scene changes and costume changes and props/lights, etc. since I'm the backstage lady is EXHAUSTING to say the least. We do drama club every Wednesday after school and I always come home with no voice after trying to talk over 80 other voices, BUT.....it always turns out absolutely incredible and I always cry when I watch in amazement as it all comes together. These kids are so incredibly talented! The thing I love most about drama club is that so many would have never known they could sing, dance and act if they hadn't been given this chance. Our school has a lot of families who can't afford to put their children into "lessons" of any sort and this gives them the free opportunity to do so. AND.....we make is so much fun! We took them on 3 field trips this year. One to the new Frozen II movie that just barely came out! So much fun! It was another great year of being a part of something so much bigger than just little Natalie Hawkins. After 5 years and 5 shows and hundreds of kids coming through the program, this part of my life will be greatly missed. 

Snow Machining

This winter Dallin was lucky enough to get away and go snow machining with his cousin JD and grandpa Stan. They even took Kiana along a few times. He works so hard that I love days when he is able to get out and play for a minute. I love even more that it is making great memories with family. From the stories and videos he shows me after it always sounds like an adventure! Lol! :)

Calving 2020

We started calving the middle of February and this year Ryan and Dale AI'd with a Charolais bull so we ended up with these sweet little creamy tan calves. They are seriously so cute next to the little black babies. 

Ciara's Hair

My cute niece Ciara asked Oakley and I to do her (and her friends) hair and make-up for her Sweethearts dance in February. SO FUN!! That is seriously one of my favorite parts of being an Aunt. Oakley and I love that kind of thing and actually make a pretty good team. She sent me pictures of what she wanted her hair to look like and after a few tries on Laiklie during the week we pulled it off. She looked absolutely gorgeous!  

Snow at the Romrell's

Ryan's grandma and grandpa spend their winters in sunny Arizona and this year with all the snow and wind and SNOW we got they got a call from a concerned neighbor about their roof. Stan, Dale, Ryan, the boys and I ran up to try and help get the snow shoveled off. Dallin and Rhett climbed on the house with Dale and pushed it off, Ryan and I stayed down below and tried to dig it out. We pushed it to the driveway and Stan used the tractor and snow blower to blow it onto the yard. It was definitely a team effort and after a couple hours of working we got it finished. 

I was so glad I got to tag along. I absolutely love where Max and Ramona's home sits. It is surrounded by fields at the base of the Teton's with a gorgeous view and just a few miles from the cemetery I grew-up going to every year with my family. Who knew that the house on the corner that I drove past year-after-year as a little girl heading to visit those I love that rest in that little cemetery would later hold such a big piece of my heart?!?!
