Jacobson Reunion 2017

For our Jacobson Family Reunion this year we all headed to Preston. We went down a day early to hit the Famous Preston Night Rodeo and Carnival.  All the big kids chose to do the carnival, Laiklie is the only one who wanted to do the rodeo.  I was so glad she did. We had so much fun together.  We both LOVED the rodeo!

Laiklie was even able to squeeze a ride in after the rodeo with the boys real quick before we headed back to Arnica's house.
The next day when most of the rest of the cousins arrived we hit Riverdale Resort to do some swimming.  The slide was the big hit of the day!! They went down it over and over and over again! So much fun!!!

Dallin learned to go down the slide with his hat on from his Uncle Travis. Hahaha!
Uncle Travis is also a professional at photo bombing! :)
All the little boys wanted Dallin to take them down the slide. He is great with the littles!
Rhett and Tyce needed a belly flop picture. Who does that?!?! Rhett and Tyce do!! Haha!
It was so fun just to be together. We did a talent show, games, a night move outside, lots of eating and very little sleeping.
Oakley and Ali spent most of their time with Ali's friends in town each day at the carnival. They had a blast, of course!
Grandma and Grandpa prepared a FHE for us.  It is always nice to hear from them and I love that at each one of these they take the time to bear their testimonies to our kids. Such great teaching moments!

We also made and floated tuna can boats.  The kids put together a play and did a big performance/production.
And then there was the water slide.....SERIOUSLY, SO MUCH FUN!

While we were all together we decided to take the time to re-create a couple pictures from our childhood.  What a bunch of goofballs...then and now!! I love that this is the family I came to earth to enjoy.  I love that I was sent to these incredible parents and that I have 5 best friends! We don't ever have any issues as siblings (now that we are adults anyways, HAHAHA!) and what an incredible blessing that truly is!! Another great family vacation!

Parade Day

Eric and Gina invited us to come watch the 24th of July Parade in St. Anthony.  So fun! Such an awesome parade.  Better floats than any other parade of the summer! Yvonne had a race that day so we had the babies.  They LOVED all the candy and loaded up on it. Glad we got to go!

Just Some Random...

Flooded the lawn....we love having the babies next door!
 Dallin and his dogs!
We had the chance to watch Paityn this summer for a few days while her mom was at girls camp.  She is such a fun little girl.  She is holding a handful of ladybugs in the first picture. Silly little thing!
We had her over swim lessons and one day had a scare.  She had her head under water and ran out of breath, she sucked in just as she was lifting her head and got a throat full of water.  Her teacher was right next to her and tried to get her to cough, but the water was stuck in her throat. She couldn't breath, but she couldn't cough either.  When she could finally breath no water came out, so we knew that the water had gone in......we didn't know if it went into her stomach or her lungs though.  So they put her on a 48 hour Dry Drowning watch.  SO SCARY! I had to watch her close for the 48 hours.  I woke-up several times in the night to make sure she was ok.  We have an oxygen tester we used on her finger ever hour to check her oxygen for the first full day.  The day it happened when we got home from swim lessons she burped and burped those deep watery burps.  We decided once the 48 hours was over that from all the burping the first day it must have gone into her stomach instead of her lungs.  Thanks goodness!! Scary!

Ladies Day

Yvonne and I took several of the ladies from our ward kayaking one day this summer.  It is always so fun to get together with friends.  We had a few new kayakers this year.  Yvonne and I were suppose to be the "professionals," so we got all the ladies in their kayaks and then climbed into ours.  As I was getting into mine it started to float away...so instead of thinking it through, I just stepped onto my kayak and of course, lost my balance and fell in! HAHAHA! We all laughed and laughed at my "professional skills!"

As Yvonne and I were unloading the kayaks at her house I had pulled one of the kayaks up on the edge of the trucks bed at the same time Yvonne pulled one and it caused one in the middle to flop over and hit the one I had up on the edge.  It came crashing down on me.  My knee and ankle took the brunt of the weight of the kayak.  IT HURT!! I was bruised and swollen for several days. More of my professional skills. ;) Hahaha!

Swim Lessons

This year Laiklie was our only one in swim lessons.  They days we stayed to swim we took Rhett with us though. She got to do lessons with Sage again.  She loves that! We always have a great time swimming together with our cousins.  This summer Oakley worked at Heise so it was fun that we got to see her a few of the days we were up there.

Horse Back Riding

We decided to take the kids to do something that they hadn't been able to do before, something maybe a little different this summer.  Dallin and JD were building bins so they didn't get to come. :(  So hard when they are working to go without them.  We had a BLAST!!
Everyone got their own horse, except Memory and Ember.  Memory rode with me and Ember rode with Yvonne.  Mem insisted that we call our horse "Spirit." And we seriously got the BIGGEST HORSE EVER!! She was a giant and kinda stubborn! Mem did really well.  It was tricky to hold her, the water bottle, my phone, and her hat along with the reins all at the same time, PLUS controlling our kinda grumpy horse.  We survived though! The kids all did fabulous with theirs, even Paityn! We rode for just over 2 hours up through the trees and all over the mountain.  Our guide was named Porter and he was fun! We are definitely doing this again!!

After the kids finished riding we hit their lake for some water fun.  They loved the water trampoline, the paddle boards and of course, the rope swings! I got some great videos of them on the swings! Hahaha!! Such a fun day together!

Grandpa and Grandma Romrell drove over to watch them play in the water for awhile.  Good to visit with them!
