Evening Scootin'

Usually on warm summer evenings we take bike rides. This summer was a little different. With Rhett in a cast he did some scootin' while Laiklie longboarded and I walked. I was amazed at how fast he was with only one leg on his scooter. We love summer nights!

Fishing

There was only one day that Dallin and Dale found a few minutes to squeeze in some creek fishing this summer and they weren't super successful! Dallin did catch this big guy though! Hahahaha! I'm so glad they found a few minutes to have a little fun!

Summertime

I never get sick of tagging along with Ryan, sitting in the sunshine and looking at this view!

Crew's Accident

The morning of July 7th we got a scary call that Chase's bin crew was in a bad car accident. They had a lady pull out infront of them. Chase watched it all happen in his rearview mirror. He thought for sure they were dead. From the looks of the truck and car involved they are so lucky they didn't get killed. It was a first for Stan's company. They've never had an accident like this. The boys jumped into gear and got the equipment unloaded and moved into a truck Ryan, Dale and Stan ran up to them. The lady in the car was taken to the hospital for shoulder/collar bone surgery. He little toddlers in the backseat (one not in a seatbelt) had no injuries, which was a miracle in itself! Those boys were definitely being watched over that day. We are so grateful they are ok!

Another Ankle Injury

The night of the 4th of July we heard Oakley come in late and climb on the treadmill. She has a hard time sleeping sometimes and that's her way of wearing herself out. She had only been on it for a few mins when we heard a huge thunk! I asked Ryan if he thought she fell off the treadmill and if we should be worried. We both agreed that it didn't sound good. So I ran downstairs to check. By the time I got down there she was back on her feet running again. I asked if she had fallen off and she "laughing" told me she had. She climbed off and explained to me that she was running when she got a text so she picked up her phone to see who it was. While she was distracted by her phone her foot hit only 1/2 the track and it flipped her off and flung her into the wall just like Ryan and I suspected. She showed me a burn on her ankle, but otherwise thought she was fine. The next morning her ankle was painful, swollen and bruised. After 10 days of swelling and bruising we decided we better get an x-ray. Luckily it wasn't broken, just badly sprained. It took ALL SUMMER LONG to heal.

Can't Keep Him From Tumbling

Broken ankle or not we can't keep this kid off the tramp and doing what he loves. I looked out the window just days after getting a cast on and saw him balancing on one leg doing back handsprings and back flips. That takes some crazy core strength to do it one legged. It was the first time in days though that we saw his real smile.

Ox in the Mire

There always seems to be something to fix on the farm. The 4th of July fell on a Saturday this year and after a late night of celebrating we woke up Sunday morning to a flat pivot tire. Lucky for us with home church we can be super flexible as to when we hold it. Ryan, Dallin and Ethan worked for several hours trying to get the tire off, fixed and back on. I'm so grateful for guys that know how to work hard even if it means doing so to get the job done on a Sunday.
