Christmas Tree ‘21

We had to wait a little later this year to put up the Christmas tree because I had 40 relief society sisters come over for dessert as part of a Progressive dinner the first weekend of December. I knew all 40 ladies plus my Christmas tree would not fit. So it was put up a little later than I liked, but it sure turned out gorgeous. Rhett thought he was hilarious that he put his ornament up on top of the star where his mom couldn’t reach it. Such a funny kid! Instead of climbing up and taking it down I left it there because he loved it so much.

Luella’s Leaves

This fall a got to help the boys activity day group from the ward rake up Luella‘s leaves. I knew they needed to be done so when their leaders were looking for a service project of raking I suggested her house. It is such a HUGE job and they were awesome! They had it done in an hour! There were 10 little boys in 2 leaders. It was so fun to work side-by-side with them and all their energy.

Dallin Priesthood Ordination

On November 28, Ryan and Linn‘s birthday, we were able to ordain Dallin to the Melchizedec priesthood. Both his Hawkins grandparents and his Grandpa Jacobson were able to attend, plus his Uncle Dale. Such a special day, especially to do it on his dad‘s birthday.

Thanksgiving 2021

We hosted the Jacobson side of the family here at our house for Thanksgiving this year. The only one of my siblings that was not with us that day was Travis. The other five of us and our families, plus dad were able to be together. Dad didn’t feel well so he only stayed for lunch. I think it was a very emotional day for him. These first few holidays without mom have been so hard. I was so grateful that we could be together though. Arnica‘s family and Cody‘s family stayed the night. Arnica, Jenny, a few of our girls and I went black Friday shopping first thing Friday morning. The girls only lasted a few hours, but Jenny, Arnica and I were troopers. We had a great time together just like in years before. I only wish I would have taken more pictures while everybody was together.

Horseshoe Bend

When we told the kids we were planning to go to the grand canyon on our trip Rhett told us about a place called Horseshoe Bend that he had heard of. It was absolutely stunning! It was totally worth the hike from the parking lot to the viewpoint. I am so glad we were able to stop there.

Grand Canyon

The Grand Canyon was freezing! It was so cold compared to Mesa the day before. It was absolutely gorgeous though. We were able to make several stops along the way to see the different viewpoints. The wind about blew us away, and we had to buy a few extra layers of clothes to stay warm, but it was totally worth it. Rhett of course had to climb down to about the sketchiest place he could find to do a backflip. (The last picture is the backflip) Scared his mom to death! I’m so glad we were able to take the kids. So amazing!

Car Selfies!

What is a road trip without a few car selfies?!?!
Dallin trying to hide in the 4th picture cracks me up! Too funny! Oakley was so sick the whole trip from being pregnant. None of her siblings knew yet that she was pregnant, just Ryan and I. You don’t see her in any of the selfies because she was asleep with her head on Logan‘s lap. Poor girl was miserable.
