Pigs, Pigs, and More Pigs

When we bought the house next door it came with a grain bin.  The grain bin came with a TON of really old (like 50 year old) food storage that had been stored in containers inside.  Ryan went back and forth on what to do with the food.  My vote all along was to THROW IT AWAY, YUCK!! But.....in the end he won and we got PIGS!

So now, morning and night these cute kids go out and feed the pigs the 2000 pounds of really old food.

Such a random thing to buy pigs to feed them old food storage.  But hopefully in the long run we end up with some really good bacon. :)

Blue & Gold Banquet

This year for the blue and gold banquet they decided to have the boys do a cake decorating contest. Our little Rhett decided it HAD TO BE  a 3 layer cake.  I have NEVER made a 3 layer cake and REALLY, REALLY, REALLY didn't want this to be my first, but it didn't matter how much I talked I was not convincing him otherwise.  So 3 layer cake it is!

We (of course) found the invitation to the banquet AFTER it was all over and the invitation clearly stated that the boys were to decorate their cakes with THEIR DADS!! What??!! If I had known that BEFORE the banquet this totally would have been the dad's project. :) Rhett was happy with the final product so that is ALL THAT MATTERS!

THIS.

Can you believe that this girl is old enough to drive LEGALLY?! Oakley turned 14 1/2 on February 1st and she made sure we were in the DMV getting her drivers permit THE SAME DAY! She did her drivers ed online and was finished with it in about 4 days....did her drives a few days later and got her permit which allows her to drive with an adult.  Now just counting down the days till August 19th when she can get the real license!!
She is a pretty good little driver.  She has only scared us A FEW TIMES. :) But is learning so fast!

This Guy...

This guy right here is the love of my life! Sixteen years ago today he took me to the temple.....well, my mom and dad took me to the temple....but I left with him and have never looked back! Ryan is easy to love.  He is mellow and laid back and wants what I want.  He does anything he can to make me happy.  He is an incredible dad to our kids.  He loves them and he shows them that love.  He wants to be with them and share in their happiness.  Ryan works so hard from sun-up to sun-down just like my dad and I absolutely love that about him.  He loves his Heavenly Father and lives an obedient life.  He is found where he is suppose to be when he is suppose to be there.  He blesses our lives in so many ways.  What an incredible gift my Heavenly Father gave me when he gave me Ryan! I love you Ryan! Happy 16th Anniversary!

Cows

Well....no pictures...but we sold almost our entire herd of cows Monday! Ryan and his dad decided to down size their herds this year while the prices are good and believe me I didn't object!! This time of year is bad for the cows pushing the fences and getting out.  A week or two ago on a Sunday morning I get a phone call about my cows being out at the same time I looked out the window and saw them out.  Of course Ryan was at bishopric meetings and I was already in my dress ready to go! I jumped on the four-wheeler, dress and all, and Dallin hurried and changed back into jeans and ran out and helped me.  It was mostly calves (calves are SO DUMB!) that were out and it took us a couple try's to get them in, but Dallin and I are a pretty good team and got it done.  I am grateful that we have had the cows because of the lessons we have learned and been able to teach our kids by having them, and I always wanted to marry a "cowboy" but I am not going to lie....I am glad to see them go!! At some point we will start to build the herd back up again but for now I am happy for the break!

Speaking of the wind...

that darn Idaho wind is incredible.  We had this mess last week at our rental house.  We got most of it cleaned up, but the main branch is SO HEAVY Ryan hasn't dared drive the tractor on the wet lawn to pick it up because of the damage he might do to the yard.  We have several more trees we need to get down before the next big wind storm or we might end up with one of these in the roof of the house!

Last Night of Skiing

I know these are all crooked. My computer won't rotate them. :( The school did one more night with the ski program the same night as the boys were at hunters safety and so I sent Laiklie with Aunt Yvonne and the girls and I kept the baby and stayed home to run Oakley to dance.  Laiklie had so much fun! Of course!!

Our February this year has been weird.  It has been almost 50+ degrees EVERYDAY! The snow melted and left us with a muddy mess.....I HATE MESSES! and then the wind blew and dried everything out and so now it looks and feels like spring IN FEBRUARY!! So that put a quick end to skiing.  My 3 little kids absolutely LOVE to ski and I feel bad they only got to go 3 times this year.  We just had too short of a winter! Darn it!
